Der beliebte freie Passwortmanager KeePass hat ein Update erfahren.
Neue Funktion für die Suche nach ähnliche oder doppelte Passwörter ist in der neuen Version von Keepass dazu gekommen.

  • The password input controls in the IO connection dialog and the proxy dialog now are secure edit controls.
  • The icon of the ‚Save‘ command in the main menu is now grayed out when there are no database changes (like the toolbar button).
  • Auto-Type: improved support for target applications that redirect the focus immediately.
  • Auto-Type: improved compatibility with VMware vSphere client.
  • When an error occurs during auto-type, KeePass is now brought to the foreground before showing an error message box.
  • Entries in groups where searching is disabled (e.g. the recycle bin group) are now ignored by the commands that show expired entries.
  • Improved scrolling when moving entries while grouping in the entry list is on.
  • Improved support for right-to-left writing systems.
  • Improved application and system tray icon handling.
  • Updated low resolution ICO files (for Mono development).
  • Moved single-click tray icon action option from the ‚Integration‘ tab to the ‚Interface‘ tab of the options dialog.
  • Synchronization file path comparisons are case-insensitive now.
  • Improved workaround for Mono clipboard bug (improved performance and window detection; the workaround is now applied only if ‚xsel‚ and ‚xdotool‚ are installed).
  • Enhanced PrepMonoDev.sh script.
  • KPScript: times in group and entry lists now contain a time zone identifier (typically ‚Z‚ for UTC).
  • Various code optimizations.

Bugfixes:

Die StarMoney App ist für Android nun kostenlos zu haben, Komfort-Optionen werden allerdings über Abo bereitgestellt.

StarMoney ist eine Finanzverwaltungssoftware und mit der nun „kostenlose“ Version kann man zumindest den Kontostand prüfen, Zahlungs Verlauf grafisch darstellen und Überweisungen ausführen.

Neue Alpha Version & Sicherheitsupdates für TOR Browser

TOR Browser wurde aktualisiert. Sicherheitsupdates in der neuen stable 6.5 Version auf die Basis von 45.7.0 ESR und zusätzlich ist noch die Aplha 7er Version verfügbar.

Aktualisierungen in dem Zuge für HTTPS-Everywhere 5.2.9, OpenSSL 1.0.2.j, NoScript 2.9.5.3 und Tor 0.2.9.9.

Alpha Versionen 7.0a1 und 7.0a1-hardened verfügbar.

Ist zwar auch etwas länger her, jedoch als Hinweis die neue VeraCrypt 1.19 Version.  Stabilitätsverbesserungen und Windows 10 Fehlerkorrekturen sind behoben worden.

Passwortmanager: KeePass 2.35 veröffentlicht

Für alle, die den Passwort Manager KeePass einsetzen, gibt es ein neues Update. Eine der Neuerungen ist ein neues KDBX 4 Format welches auf langer Sicht Verbesserungspotenzial bietet. Die Forks sind noch nicht alle auf das neue Format angepasst, daher da an der Stelle etwas aufpassen sofern unterschiedliche KeePass Alternativen zusammen mit dem neuen Datenbankformat eingesetzt werden.

Es stehen zudem neue Importfunktionen wie der Import von mSecure 3.5.5 CSV Dateien, Enpass 5.3.0.1 TXT Dateien, Password Saver 4.1.2 XML sowie LastPass. Komplettes Changelog gibt es direkt auf der Homepage von KeePass.

Evernote Alternative – Turtl / OneNote / Synology Note

Da Evernote angefangen hat die eigene User langsam aber sicher zu vergrauen, sollte sich jeder überlegen ob er nicht wechseln sollte.

Alternativen, die auch kostenlos sind gibt es relativ viele: Microsoft OneNote, Synology Note (Synology NAS/Station nötig), Turtl.

Turtl ist noch relativ jung, bietet aber auch einige interessante Features an wie zum Beispiel Verschlüsselung von Daten an. Gleich nach der Registrierung / Anmeldung wird aus dem Passwort ein kryptografischer Schlüssel generiert welcher für die Verschlüsselung der Daten (online auf den Servern sowie auch auf den Geräten benutzt wird.)

Die Software ist OpenSource, ein Turtl Server kann man auch selbst betreiben, für alle die ihre Daten bei sich haben wollen. Unterstützt wird auch iOS, Android, Windows und Linux.

Microsoft bietet eine Importierung von Evernote Konten an ( https://www.onenote.com/import-evernote-to-onenote ).

Synology Note Station

Der Synology Note kommt mit den NAS Geräten von Synology, durch die Verwendung von dem Synology eigene DynDNS Dienst lässt sich das Ganze auch über das Internet nutzen. Der Note ist dem Evernote sehr ähnlich und dieser lässt es auch zu die Evernote Inhalte zu sich zu importieren.

Als Lösung und Evernote Ersatz finde ich es persönlich als die beste Lösung auch wenn dafür eine NAS nötig wäre. Vorteil ist ganz klar zu sehen, es gibt bei dieser Lösung als Begrenzung nur der eigene Datenspeicher, welcher i.d.R. wesentlich größer ausfallen dürfte wie die „Online Dienste“ das anbieten.

Synology Note Station gibt es für Windows, Android, iOS, Linux, Webbrowser Extension.
